Electrostatic painting: innovative treatments for anti-corrosion paint

by | Jul 12, 2021 | Innovation | 0 comments

As a business, Frumecar is committed to innovation: to placing our skill and the new technologies at our disposal at the service of the concrete industry.

That is why we were among the first companies in Spain to use automated systems for monitoring and managing concrete plants. But that is not the limit of our innovative ambition.

One of the keys to extending the useful life of our concrete plants, concrete mixers and recyclers is corrosion resistance. That is why we recently decided to establish a coatings analysis laboratory where we perform accelerated corrosion tests to check the quality of coatings.

Along the same lines, we have decided to adopt a new painting system: electrostatic painting. Paint particles are electrostatically charged which causes them to be attracted to the metal surface to which they are applied, making painting more uniform and efficient, and faster.

The process has been found to reduce paint use by up to 25% compared to conventional painting systems. That means less paint is wasted and so overall waste is reduced. The process also improves the quality of paint application because it makes it easier to reach every inch of the item.

Frumecar’s coatings area exemplifies our passion. It exemplifies our commitment to manufacturing quality for every single component of our concrete mixers and concrete plants. It reaffirms our efforts to offer sustainable solutions that protect the environment and conserve natural resources. We are committed to building a circular economy that serves not only our interests and the interests of our customers, but also the interests of the environment and society as a whole.
